In retrospect a wrong choice of hill, given the stunning looking conditions elsewhere the same day. But I wanted to fit a hill walk in in the morning before lunch with my sister and Glas Maol was just very convenient for that. Had I stuck to my original idea I would have been walking the Lawers hills above an inversion. Never mind, at least it was decent weather and I didn't feel too knackered despite a lull in my hillwalking.

Inversion but far off to the west.

Made it to the summit for sunrise. I'd been passed by one person with a highly energetic cocker spaniel whose red light I could see darting about in the semi dark. Oh to have that amount of energy. I did ok though.

View of Lochnagar.

Some nice sunrise colour in the sky.

And to the north.

At the summit.

View in the direction of the Lawers range which was where I'd originally intended to go.

Ribbons of fog, as MWIS is wont to say.

Got back to the car and thoughts turned to making myself presentable for lunch. Reminisced a bit and I asked my sister if she recalled climbing a certain small hill together when we were children, a vivid memory for me but it drew a blank for her. I'll have to see if I can find the couple of photos I might still have from that day.
