This walk was a navigational challenge. It begins of gentle, you are faced with a seemingly never ending track (not really that far in reality)

As the track starts to level out, its important that you take a right. You will eventually come to a deer gate, according to reports its quite often closed, it wasn't for me. As soon as you go through the gate, to the left there is what remains of a wooden "foot bridge" to cross the ditch.

This will take you up through the trees along the deer fence. Please be aware this is very boggy and wet and also don't be tempted by the vast array of mushrooms. Carry on through the darkness and you will be rewarded with a clearing (i think its called a fire breaK)

Next is a challenging minefield of Christmas trees (didn't pay attention at school to know what they are really called)
I found it easy to take the tree line on the left hand side of the ascent.

Soon you'll be at the top to take your selfies, have a cup of tea or whatever you do, I went to fetch a biscuit from my bag but realised, I had left them in the car. doh!

Instead of retracing my steps, I took a different route back, using my GPS to take a straight line to the forrestry track, through more bogs and felled trees.
It was quite the adventure but not one I'd likely be repeating.
