Annoyingly the weather looked better further north/west but time commitments meant a bigger drive wasn't an option so we settled for a couple of hills behind Loch Laggan. Biked in as far as Lochan Na H-Earba, with Dougal the spaniel running at full tilt all the way, plus a small extra detour where I neglected to look at the map before cycling off at speed down the wrong track. Weather was glorious on Creag Pitridh, a few clouds moving over and around the top but great views down towards Ardverikie. I had decided that it looked more interesting to head up Gael Charn from the north, so we could explore coire an lubhair mor, so we skirted around the western side of the hill until we reached the western shoulder. The skirting wasn't very pleasant, very slow going over lots of small rocks and Tommy abandoned us to head straight to the top. Rachel and I perservered, despite the complete lack of visibility and made our way over to the base of Sron Garbh. The climb onto the nose was steep and very wet underfoot but with no real challenges other than avoiding slipping on the sodden ground. I'm sure it would have been nicer with views. We reached the summit of Gael Charn (still no visibility) and slowly made our way off, struggling to find any kind of path until joining the main track back down towards the bikes. Another sprint for Dougal and a rapid cycle downhill for us took us back to the vans, leaving us just enough time to pop down for a quick swim at the Pattack Falls carpark before heading home.

That is a great summit photo and some nice ones of the loch. Presumably your dog stopped running round when at the summit?
I took a similar route up Creag Pitridh to get those views over the crags an loch -well worthwhile I thought.
