Catching up on walk reports from September, I had almost forgotten the beautiful warm day we had for the Cairnwell 3 Munros. My mantra (to myself usually) is 'there are no easy Munros', but these do come pretty close to it, with only 782 m ascent recorded for the round of three. As a couple of excellent posts suggested last month, these do make a very good option for a first Munro, and you can easily extend it to two or three, depending on how it's going.

No problems finding a parking space for this one!

Looking back on the ski centre from part way up Carn Aosda. The pilot who created the contrail must have forgotten their lunch or something..

Bit of an unorthodox summit cairn on the Cairnwell - which actually looks in danger of collapse from the other side

It may be a bit of an eyesore to some, but the radio tower has a certain kind of aesthetic appeal to it I think

In poor visibility, I guess you can follow the cables down

A really enjoyable round, I think a lot more than I was expecting for such a busy ski area, especially in weather like this. It has some fabulous views and some 'architectural' interest along the way and certainly the easiest round of three that I can recall, given the starting altitude of about 600 m.

What a day you got! Those blue skies made me think of the day we had in Assynt, then I realised it was the exact same day! :D

:D Yes a day to remember - quite hard to believe they exist as you trod through the clag!
