We decided to leave rainy Aberdeen and do a decent, low-level walk around Ballater and decided on the Cambus o'May circuit. After arriving at a very busy car park in Ballater, we headed off over the Dee and into a pine forest for a quick ascent to a WW2 lumber yard. Heading back down, we crossed the road and headed through a gate to the River Dee. We wandered past some farms and saw a deer on the track we were heading to.
Reaching the suspension bridge, the heavens opened and we took shelter under the tree. After only 5 mins though, the sun shone again and we crossed and carried on for 3.5 miles down the deeside cycle way. We found this quite boring as it was next to the busy A93.
Overall though, it was quite enjoyable and we liked the length of it.
