Tradition seems to dictate that when one gets to this point in one’s walking career, one gets all philosophical, nostalgic and reflective. So, I guess I’d better get this bit over quickly. 8)

My first munro was just on 25 years ago (Ben Lomond oddly enough) followed by my first winter munro, Ben Vorlich, at the start of 1987. Marriage and kids then meant that I’d only got to a total of 13 separate munros by August 2011. OK, OK, - I’m not much use at this reminiscing on the meaning of life stuff so I’ll get on with the report........... :D

After a West Glen Etive walk on Friday followed by an East Glen Etive walk on Saturday, I had set up the tent in a spot just down from Buachaille Etive Mor. As I was later getting to bed than planned, I wasn’t up all that early which meant I wasn’t able to get up above the mist before it disappeared. :o

When I got up I was very pleasantly surprised to find no midges as there was a slight breeze – could this be a good omen I wondered. :shh: It had been cold again overnight meaning the tent was wet with dew but no matter as I was returning home today. Got packed up, made breakfast and had a large, strong coffee – that’s me set up for the day.

View of the night’s pitch.

Well done on getting to 100, hope to do this myself very soon :D

We nicknamed the summit shelter on Stob na Broige "Cafe Amsterdam" as there was someone smoking a big joint when we were there

A pretty stunning weekend - wish I'd been able to spend it on the hills :) . Just had a look at your Ben Starav report (which I missed) and it occurred to me that you did a hell of a lot of ascent over those 3 days

Congratulations on the 100th.
