Here we go, my first report! :D
We got to the car park, started putting our boots on and discovered my sister had left her coat behind in Ullapool  :problem: ..... bye dad back to Ullapool you go!
One man down off we go, strolling along so dad can catch us up again!

Dam - dad had to go get the coat lol

Lovely view towards Ben Wyvis from the dam

Lots of time for mum to photograph the flowers!

There's dad!

We followed the track from the dam, over a bridge, passed a little stone hut and that's where dad caught us up - what a hero  Then we carried on along the track until it ended and then followed a path along the side of the Allt a'Mhadaidh.
We had to cross the water twice which was fun but the path was bad in some places.

Crossing over

Once we got close to Loch a'Mhadaidh the path disappeared and we made our way to the ridge through very wet ground. This was the low point of the day for me.

Into the wet we go

The weather wasn't looking too great either, with the tops in cloud, but I wasn't thinking about that I just wanted to get out of the bog!
Finally we reached the ridge and some dry and stony ground

And some cool views 8)

We had lunch on some rocks higher up. Feeling much happier now we followed the path round the steep sides of Meall a'Chrasgaidh to the col.

Mountain goats!

From there it didn't seem too hard to get to the summit.

IMG_1441.JPG
Yey 42 Munros for me!

The views were awesome in every direction

After a piece of tablet to celebrate we set off towards Sgurr Mor.

Sgurr Mor ahead of us

IMG_1453.JPG
Sgurr nan Clach Geala and Sgurr nan Each - for another day!

IMG_1454.JPG
Come on dad!

It was hard getting to the top, this side of Sgurr Mor is quite steep but we eventually made it. We realised later that this was not only my 43rd Munro but THE 43rd Munro - SPOOKY!
IMG_1455.JPG
Me on my 43rd Munro - keeping away from the cliff edge!

The views were so cool - here's a few of them....

South continuing along the ridge

So then we had to make a choice, back down via Beinn Liath Mhor Fannaich which we had already done last year, or carry on down the ridge and face the long walk back to the road..... guess which one we chose? No. 2 option - we didn't want to face the long walk in again! Even my sister agreed.
The rest of the walking to the Munros wasn't too hard at all, I was just a bit tired from the trek so far.
IMG_1488.JPG
Sgurr Mor from Meall Gorm, our 3rd summit of the day, my 44th Munro!

The walk up An Coileachan was quite rocky but fine otherwise.
IMG_1501.JPG
4 bums!

And then the summit - we were all very pleased to get there! I finished my hot chocolate and we were set for the long bog slog back to the road.
IMG_1503.JPG
My 45th Munro!

Then we headed back to Bealach Ban and took the best route down the steep slope towards Meallan Buidhe where we found a path.
IMG_1513.JPG
Here we come bog!

Then we lost the path and it was a very boggy slog to the Abhainn a'Ghiubhais Li. I only kept going cos I was so desperate to get back and have chips and sausage for tea.
We crossed the water on a bridge and carried on on the left hand bank, the path was good and terrible!
We got to a second bridge which we crossed but then crossed back again as the track through the woods looked so tempting but we weren't sure where it went. (Think it did go right way).
IMG_1535.JPG
The last bridge and views towards Beinn Dearg

Finally we made it to the road and dad the hero jogged along the A835 a few k's to get the car for us.

The view back towards An Coileachan

I really liked this walk but parts were a bit boggy. We did make it back to Ullapool for our chips before the shop closed - the latest tea I've ever had!! And good on you dad! And thanks mum for helping me put this report together.

Nice one BH,
Did these in winterr what an epic, you can read my report !

Your right the track from the second bridge (coming out) does lead back to the road, comes out by the road bridge just along from the car park by the met station. Its a bit of a steep climb at first but once up its a gentle flat to downhill all the way back on a good track and would be better if it was wet or foul, as that path by the river can get a bit damp.

I found the walk from the bealach back to the river the worse bit, both in winter (falling in up to my waist in snow) and later when I returned to get the end munro, which I had to abandon on the first winter trip. Took me 5 hrs then to get from the bealach back to the road !

Not sure I want to walk with your dad, jogging and all that AFTER doing this walk !!
