After our recent accident my confidence had taken a hit so I thought I would jump back in at the deep end ! We picked the trio at the Lawers range that my pal had left to complete including the North East accent of An Stuc !!
So we parked at The Lawers Hotel at 9am and walked along the road and turned left onto the track at the Horn Carvers shop. You follow the track and as you clear the trees the first Munro of the day came into sight, Meall Greigh.
- Meall Greigh in the distance
After around 2 hours we were on the summit. It is a straight forward Munro which doesnt pose any real difficulty unlike what was lying ahead !
- Summit of Meall Greigh with the Lawers group in the background.
There is also great views of Loch Tay from the summit

It was now onto our second target of the day Meall Garbh. There is a good well formed path from the 1st onto the 2nd and after a good walk we were on summit number 2, Meall Garbh.
- Summit of Meall Garbh with An Stuc ominously in the background waiting.
So it was onto the main target of the day, An Stuc from the North East ridge.I would be lying if I said it had not been on my mind all day having never really done a full on scramble before.

Getting closer ! and more worried !!

So I took a brave pill and went up !

After what seemed a lifetime I got to the summit. Could not believe I done it !!
- Summit of An Stuc
After a short rest we started back down and got some fine views of Locah nan Cat
- Lochan nan Cat
We went down past the Lochan on our route down and enjoyed the fine views
- An Stuc from Locahn nan Cat
On my way down I felt so pleased with myself, for me anyway that scramble was a major hurdle.
I could not resist one last look back at An Stuc.
