PeteR wrote:A timely report this Polly, as I still have these two to do. My 'local' hills are running a bit thin these days and I'm having to travel further and further to get ticks off the list. These two keep jumping out as blots on my munro map and I'm thinking I may need to do something about it, having done the other hills close by.

You may just have pursuaded me to push them up the list, but I'm not sure about finishing the day with pear and fennel soup though. A good pint or two would be more up my street

Thanks Pete. It was a good day out. Its funny how when you're slogging your way up those pesky grassy, pathless slopes, you're thinking why oh why am I doing this? But then you reach the top and you get a view, its so worth it!!!

Soup really was fab! I wouldn't have said no to a few pints either!!!

You can drive beyond the carpark but I dont think you're allowed to park- private road ?

Yes could cycle along to the ford in the river but I would carry the bike over, there are a lot of cattle roaming about on the north bank. Hope this helps. P :D

Very nice report as usual, Polly :) . Your soup looks right tasty too.
I did these two yesterday - I agree that wee road up Glen Lochay is surprisingly hard to find from Killin :wtf: - I discovered (accidentally) that following the NTS sign for the Murlaganmore Longhouse takes you onto another minor road that joins the Glen Lochay road higher up, luckily enough.
