After being out for just over 9hrs the previous day doing the Lochnagar circuit, we were looking for a short afternoon stroll today and Creag Bhalg looked just the job. As it was raining most of the day we held off till just before 2pm before starting, there is enough parking for 2 cars at a gate where we started the walk. We walked along the track till we reached the second crossroads where we took a left and continued up this track. We then reached a stile and 20 meters after crossing the stile we saw a path to the right heading upto Creag Bhalg. It took just over 1hr to reach the summit where we got lovely views towards the Cairngorms and Ben Avon. We returned via the same route. A nice wee walk this one with some rewarding views.

Yeah, you're right, it's a decent wee hill for a short outing with decent views. Your ascent route is a lot less troublesome than my descent route off this one earlier this year - straight off towards the big parking area at Linn of Quoich. Not easy in places.
