A little gem of a walk.Starting on the shores of Loch Kishorn on what was originally a coffin road a fairly gentle ascent gives great views of Applecross and the Bealach na Ba.A couple of easy burn crossings & into a lovely wooded area filled with bird song.Good forestry track leads to an upward track & the steepest section of the walk( short and sharp) but worth the effort as the views are fabulous & are great excuse to stop & catch you breath as you take in the scenery. There is a good chance of seeing golden eagles in this area.On reaching Leacanshie a left turn on a minor road leads to Strome Castle. This diversion is worth the effort as although the castle is a ruin, the view down Loch Carron, toward Plockton & The Cuillins is breathtaking.Reluctantly return to the road & go back the same route & continue to Ardaneaskan. This is alovely little village with a strategically placed bench & an ideal place to have a relaxed break.Head towards Loch Reraig and on an excellent track continue to meet up with outward route. At approx 8ml this is a superb walk, one I have done several times & never tire of.
