This was first time for a couple of the guys so to do three in a day was to me very impressive. This was a charity event for Macmillan cancer research (unitedhillwalkers) and have at this moment raised around £700 which is not bad this day and age. We went to Roy Bridge camp site on the Friday decided to make a whole weekend of it and must say we had a fantastic time even though it rained Saturday evening into Sunday but Friday and Saturday day time were fantastic managed to top all three Munros before rain came. Had a bbq Friday which turned out well as helped keep the midges away (there were a lot of midges) We managed to go to the Hotel there and had a couple of refreshments before we retired to our tents and up for an early start.

We were up at seven and had a shower then breakfast (Luxury) leaving to start walk around eight. Starting at Creag Meagaidh forestry car park deciding that Meag would be first of the day. Following a good path round back of the white farm house we started our walk for charity climb a munro for cancer.

The walk to Lochan Choire Ardair was straight forward but was good sun was out so the views all around were great really lucky as last munro the weather changed so quick. Everybody was having a great day and we were just happy to be away from all the hassles of every day life.

Some guys arriving Lochan

After reaching choire Ardair it was time to take on the window (After short break) Telling the guys that this would probably be the hardest part of the day but most satisfying so it was heads up and lets do it must admit to loving this mountain it was my first munro around 20 years ago so was so good to be back. We arrived at the summit around 13-00 hours and to see the smiles and the satisfaction on everyone's face was great and i could feel that this could be the start of something mmmm sowe have started a new walking club yup you guessed it unitedhillwalkers and cant wait to get out with these guys again.

Could not resist

After summit creag Meagaidh it was a turn around and onto Stob Poite Coire Ardair and Carn Laith following a good path back everyone was very energized and ready to go the path takes you down to top of window then it is straight up to summit of stob poite then long walk to Carn Laith reaching there back of four just as rain started but hey it is only rain. Making way down Laith to car park was bit hard going but everyone knew what awaited us back at camp mmm yeah steaks cider and beer well deserved and well refreshing. A very satisfying day for all and a good cause also look what has come from it. Ok were all United supporters oh and a thistle fan and F1 fan but one thing in common a passion for the mountains so bring on the next day out cant wait.
