Late kick off today after taking the daughter swimming, unfortunately the swimming had tired her out a little so this small walk wasn't on for her today.
Set off from the car park at 1 pm-ish with light rain misting around us, doshed in with midges to keep us moving. the walk up Lairig Eilde was quite steep initially however we were soon up on the ridge between the two Munros. We decided to go for Stob Dubh first. The rain was on and off along the ridge and the views were restricted because of the constant car wash along the Buachaille.
however the humour still flowed....
Wasn't long before we were on the Black point, raining one side, us lot sheltering the other side eating Egg Rolls...yum
- Daft hat time!
The rain threatened to disappear and the Sun threatened to come out not before I managed to pick up my first Rainbow below...Happy days
The walk back along the ridge was very pleasant up to Raineach. At this point the wind decided to join in and assisted us all the way to the peak
By the time we reached the summit the rain had returned so we didn't hang around too long, however the humour was still there.
The route off was different as I totally lost the path and once again went for a scree scramble straight down rather than the zigzag route of what turned out to be a very faint path.
. The day overall was again brilliant I'm going to go back and visit the Wee Buachaille in better weather so we can see the views over Glen Etive on a better day. Highly Commended
- Do it! it's a great day even in the dreich!
