I tackled this hill from the west scaling Red hill before heading up Hill of Foudland.This route was a little difficult due to a lack of paths and the heather being tough going.
I did it this way to avoid the masts near the summit and a landrover track heading up from the east.

I wondered why the name of this hill rung a bell till it got to the transmitter photo when it struck me - I was ID'ing the hills I could see from Bennachie (which I went up the other week for the first time). Anyway here's the piccie:

Nice pic Alastair S, and the one in the middle looks like Knock Hill.Looks like you had a very clear day.

Yes, I got out my piece of string and figured it was probably Knock Hill so thanks for the confirmation. Just seen your report for said hill - looks like there some nice views to be had there.
