I had hoped to start my walk early on Saturday morning but was unable to escape work until late morning. Turned out to be a bit of a blessing really as the morning was quite wet and windy and it turned into a fantastic afternoon - couldn't really have asked for better weather. Nice temperature, just the right amount of wind to keep me cool, enough clouds to make photography interesting but not to cloudy to make it a dull day.

I arrived at Ardvorlich house just before mid-day and since it's only a few miles from home I was already booted and ready to go. I followed the normal route up and down so nothing great to report there. For what must be the first time ever, my knee did not scream and shout - perhaps the exercises the physiotherapist has be doing is actually working. Wish I'd gone to see him 23 years ago now. It's amazing the difference no knee pain makes actually, I just felt full of energy the whole time. Even when I got back to the car after 5 hours 25 minutes I didn't feel I'd had enough.

Anyway, a few piccies snapped along the way.

Ben Vorlich was my second munro nearly a quarter of a century ago - ahh, takes me back and so good to see such great photos. Didn't get round to Stuc a'Chroin until late last year !

Sometimes wonder if I should've seen about my knee over 20 years ago as well 8)

Great photos as ever frogwell - I've posted one of mine from 1987 with a similar view....I'm on the right but don't laugh too much at the fashion sense

some spectacular shots there frogwell, love the dabbled light beneath the clouds (particularly in shots 3 & 6) Good to hear another one of us escaping the pain barrier at last, long may it continue :D

Thanks for the comments :)

I'd best not make too much of your hilltop fashion there rockhopper. In 1987 I'd still have been sporting tight stonewashed jeans and long hair. I didn't fall into your modelled fashion until 3 or 4 years later.

Couldn't quite see my house as there were a couple of hills in the way. No knee pain yet, I did a fast 5 mile walk into the village yesterday and another speedy 3 or 4 miles in the hills behind my house today and not even a twinge. Then again, that's not to say the pain isn't just gathering strength!
