yep - most of us have done it
did similar opposite on the 5 sisters long before mobiles etc - don't use them even now, another boring ol' git - parked at Morvich, just the mutt & I started off with clear views then followed a big stone arrow in thick cloud after Fhuaran (it's all so obvious in clear conditions!!) pathless down into Glen Shiel, cut off by the river & a very long difficult walk in the dark past the campsite at Shiel Bridge, where I was staying, to get the car at 2am - sickening
certainly learnt to check when leaving any top, coming down into the wrong glen is not amusing + the sun seems to go down faster than you can walk!
2 things about thick cloud though, when it thins & clears it's often like the dance of the 7 veils as it reveals the view to discover where you are - & your eyesight seems so much better
glad u were ok though, one of those that you will certainly remember with the bonus of a brocken & atmospheric photos - all sun can be so mundane
