First Solo Munro In the Snow

Great stuff Del!! How good are those hills looking with the white tops Good move saving Stuc for another day, did the scramble on a good day, but definitely wouldn't fancy it in snow!! Hoping to get out somewhere tomorrow, I hope we get the views you got, I think my last 6 walks have been in clag now! Cheers.

I forgot to mention,we tried the gully to the left twice, and succeeded only once.

We were halted 20m from gully exit due to snow cornise the 1st time. We succeeded the following year when there was less snow.

Tom, if you're talking about Munro Bagging, some would say it's not a sport; more of an affliction/addiction/illness.

Was that the first one you had done in snow and ice or was it the first one you had done alone? I've yet to tackle a mountain covered in the white stuff and I was wondering if anyone had any advice as to the best way to get experience. I've inherited the necessary gear from my late father and I'm eager to try it out.

My first solo in snow. I started hillwalking back in January this year so my first three ever outings were in the snow but with friends. You need to be extra careful and I pick more straight forward hills for these conditions.

I've got The Cobbler penciled in for this weekend as it's one I know very well so if the snow holds on it then I'll give it a go. I had to abandon my last attempt on it so I'm not afraid to turn around if it gets too hairy.

I wanted to do these this summer but it wasn't to be as the weather constantly put us off. This is a great report and The Prow looks a bit scary and I will leave this to next year now. Well done.
