Staying at the Great Glen water park for a few days with the family. From our cabin over looking the loch i could see the snow caped peaks of these two munros & was looking forward to the wednesday. The best weather day in a run of poor ones.

Parked up & followed the track untill we came to what is discribed as the large boulder marking where the path through the trees leaves the track. This is made more obvious by an old walking boot full of stones on top of said boulder.

Fortunatly the walk through the trees is fairly short & you are soon out on the open hill & not long before you can see the bealach between the two hills.

Under foot we had snow from about 350 meters & only the occaisional cloud, one of which dumped some snow on us. Wind was quite strong.

After 2 hours of walking i noticed that Jack (11 year old son) had gone quiet. He then anounced that he did not want to continue. So after a wee rest & a chat we headed back down. If the day is not for you then it is'nt & the hills will be there long after we are gone.

If you have not yet done these i can say its a fine walk & i look forward to returning soon.

I love these hills

I think one thing I noticed is that if you only do one , then there is no re-ascent on the way down and there are not many hills like that

Hi Jonny,

Didn't know that you can stay at the waterpark. What's it like? Are there indoor and outdoor activities?

We were up at these hills last month and really enjoyed them although the winds were mighty gusty

Hi Polly

There is a small pool there & it is the base for the company called highland activities who do all manner of outdoor stuff, at a price

Lovely spot
