Driving past the Succoth car park at 9am we couldn't help notice how busy it was, it was heaving. There was mini buses and dozens of cars and quite a few groups setting off, with others getting ready. I could just imagine the queues on The Cobbler waiting to thread the needle. Both of us were quite suprised by the amount of people but at least folk were getting out and there was also a group of school kids amongst them which was good to see, a day off from the xbox and facebook will do them no harm whatsoever. We carried on with our short drive to the parking area at Butterbridge in the knowledge that Beinn Luibean would be quiet and as we arrived the parking was empty. Only two more cars were parked up while we did the walk and we never saw a single soul during our walk. We did however hear voices as we sat just off the summit as we were having lunch but have no idea where they went as we never saw them. Now to the walk and the route. There are several options up this hill and the one we took was round Beinn Luibean heading to the bealach between Beinn Luibean and Beinn Ime, heading up the north east ridge to the summit. We roughly took the same route back down, with other options available to us as well as taking in Beinn Ime but Alan was happy just doing the Corbett. There are paths on this hill but sometimes they become faint or just disappear. The views as expected are superb although the low cloud stopped us from getting them for most of the walk. The moral of this walk is if you're looking for a short quite day on the hills, Beinn Luibean is the answer.

Have this one planned for later with the dogs. Excellent views from all the Arrochar hills, this probably being the least climbed- from your report there is no reason for it :? Cheers.

JC,

I loved this wee hill - it's just unfortunate it's dominated by Beinn an Lochain and Beinn Ime but nice wee pad.

Better than most of our Arrochar weather - clocked up a few waterproofs hours on those.

Not a bad day 8)

Thanks guys and as it's a short walk Rockhopper you could do it with Beinn an Lochain or Binnein an Fhidhleir or all three if you push it :D

It was a busy day - I was on the Cobbler - was heaving!

Had wondered if tacking this one on was an option but just a bit too far in the wrong direction given parked at Loch Long.

Was there a queue for threading the eye?

This one is only a few miles further up the road
