It's that time of the year when I have stopped doing this
and after a 7 month break i'm back to doing these
Dave and myself meet up with Iain and Jake Just after 8:00.
It was obvious from the start that my first walk in months was going to be a toughie, but as it turned out we could not ask for better weather.
The first section was hard going, especially through the heather; once we got through that it was easier going.
The cloud was wafting around the top of our first Munro and views were not the best, although it was weird how the cloud ended up sitting on one side of the hill, while the other was clear.

After some nice soup, heated at the top by Longshanks, we headed back down the Forrest route, missing the new path and following the route that the burn takes.
Iain had much joy and jubilation when Dave had a little stumble into the mud (usual Iain is the one to go down)
We got down safely and went for our customary shandy before heading down the road.
It was good to be back and a great time was had by all.

Warning
Please note that hillwalking when there is snow lying requires an ice-axe, crampons and the knowledge, experience and skill to use them correctly. Summer routes may not be viable or appropriate in winter. See winter information on our skills and safety pages for more information.

Number 14 is a great picture. I showed the picture in my avatar to my fiancee last week and she got the fright of her life. I wonder what would happen if I showed her one like yours

That was my Brother in Law, his reports are under the user name Pigeon, photo 15 shows what he was looking down at
It's a cracking walk, but I would not fancy doing it in the snow or ice.
