So not exactly doing them fast  and with no realistic hope of completing. (Can anyone tell me why it's spelt "compleating" when used in relation to munros?)

explanation here http://www.smc.org.uk/Munros/ - SMC of course

As for the cairn - don't know - but some people just seem to need to mark their passing

Thanks for the explanation magicdin. :D

And there was me thinking the wee cairn was over someone's ashes and being careful not to knock it over! duh. Not sure if indiscriminate cairn building is a good idea though. Imagine the mess at summits if everyone did that. :?

Not fond of too many cairns on the hills myself (or memorials for that matter)

I love the way you simplify your description of the walk, it makes for very easy enjoyable reading :D :D

Now from the queen of witty TR I take that as a compliment indeed! :D

'Scuse my ignorance, but what does the T in TR stand for?

great pictures dogplodder - your wife isn't Judith Chalmers by any chance? :)

is the wee cairn maybe to mark the direction of descent off the summit? i've seen alot of handy wee cairns that tend to give some kind of clue of direction, but you can never be sure - imo anything non standard that's neither a summit cairn, a shelter or a nav aid should be demolished :o

I know - the camera doesn't quite capture the old helicopter tails in that pic!

Here's one of Jack enjoying his hard earned carrot. :D

Dogplodder is coping with this - but I understand Judith Chalmers is seeking legal advice on potentially raising a claim for damages.
