Hi Del , we met briefly on the hill yesterday - on the summit , you or your mate took my foto at the cairn ?
I was 1st off from the lay by just after 8am - my Clio has the WH sticker on the rear window . So i was 1st onto the hill ploughing through virgin snow which was very tirring. Looking back down i saw various folk making their way up . About 200 -300 M after the fence - which was trying to hide under the snow 2 guys passed me -jokingly thanking me for clearing a path :) adding i`d find it easier following their tracks, after the "easier"platteau section at roughly 700M a young couple passed me , again thanking me for clearing the way. I`d be easy to spot from below , all 17st of me silhoueted against blue sky & the snow  Finally on the last 30 M you & your mate passed me & we all summitted together , i tried to go into the shelter but it was full of snow 4ft deep. The wind was horrific , so after 2 mins & fotos i retreated to have my coffee & piece out of the wind. The rest was bliss , i found the pace quite hard with the snow - taking over 5 hours , but it wasn`t a race & i enjoyed my day -well worth the effort, amazing views. I didn`t take Oskar with me due to the snow , hopefully we`ll be out together before Ne`er Day.
Hopefully come across you again on a fine hill !

Couldn`t resist this either , great fun :D

Congrats on your day out, the first photos don't even hint at what was lying in store for you on top, cheers for posting some great photos.

Hi Steven

Nice to finally meet another WH member on a hill !! I was the one who took your picture on the summit so im glad it turned out ok as I could hardly stand still with the wind when I took it !! I to found the walk up the hill through the snow a bit of a struggle as you may remember I was moaning about the man flu :( !! In saying that you would of been worse making the first foot steps in the snow for eveyone to follow  !! Maybe I should rename one my pics above from "follow the footsteps" to "following Stevies footsteps" Glad you had a good day and nice meeting you.

Nice one Del, still to do this one, and after your report it's firmly on my winter radar. Some cracking pics there 8)

It's a great hill for winter walking and the views are pretty good as well. It is fairly boring in summer conditions and a bit boggy if I remember right.

Think your right. There are a few I have been keeping for winter due to them being boggy, Ben Challum which I plan too do soon.

Good old Meall G - scrubs up well with the white stuff! But I reckon it's always windy at the very top! You've got some great photos there! Winter does have it's special times! Thanks! 8)

Your definitely right. A great hill for the winter. I think in summer it would be a bit of a plod but the snow takes your mind of it !!
