My 2011 - Part Two

Aonach Eagach munros - 30-31 July
As you'll see from the pics, these weren't completed on the same day - I had no intention of attempting the ridge, even given the wonderful weather I had on the Saturday! Arrived at the Red Squirrel campsite on Friday afternoon & spent too much time in the Clachaig that night but I'm sure we've all done that at some point!
Meall Dearg
Couldn't have had better conditions for climbing Meall Dearg, the views were fantastic and I stayed at the top for nearly an hour taking it all in - absolutely breathtaking. Took the bus from Glencoe Village towards Kinlochleven & jumped off just at the caravan park.
Sgorr nam Fionnaidh
Once again, no two days the same and hardly a worthwhile photo from this munro so here's a shot of my sunburnt bawface in the summit shelter!
Beinn Dorain & Beinn an Dothaidh - 15 September
My final munros of the year and the weather was great yet again. A day off work and after checking the weather reports, headed up to Bridge of Orchy to tackle these two. I've walked underneath them many times while doing the West Highland Way.
So that's my year in the hills, hopefully 2012 will be as enjoyable for myself and the rest of you too.
