Firstly an introduction!!

I've been a keen walker for many years but have always dipped in and out as other things have come into my life - kayaking, biking, motorbikes, kids, dogs, photography and a host of other passtimes - all have taken time and walking has always been there but this year I'd like to do some more. I hope to use this excellent resource to get ideas for walks and also to record (as much for my own interest as for others) what I manage to do over the year (and beyond!). Photography is a passion too so hopefully I'll share some decent pics over the course of the year.

First walk of the new year (OK, so it was last year) on Carn Liath and Braigh Coire Chruinn-bhalgain.

Late start from the car park (in fact we met several groups on their way down when we were starting off). Once on the summit of Carn Liath the weather started to close in and by the time we reached the bealach there was a debate about whether to continue on. Valour won the day and on we went but it was not pleasant on top!! Some navigation was called for to descend to the old bothy at Creag-choinnich as it was a white out for part of the descent.

Descent to the car by headtorch.

Top start to 2011.
