Not sure whether I had more fun sifting through the mudslide for fossils; or eyeing up Torridon across the water. I found a small hard clump of mud which was decidedly fossil-shaped... or maybe it was just a small stone... or maybe just a caked & dirty petrified jellybaby... wasn't too sure at the time but I put it in my pocket anyway. At the car, a good scrub with a towel proved it to in fact be a tiny ammonite, which I was allowed to keep. Success!
