Getting to the ton at last

At last after a few set backs over the last couple of months what with the rubbish weather and the even more rubbish work, today would be the time to get to treble figures in the munro count.AnSocach was the chosen one, looked fairly straightforward ,no a great deal of ascent but a decent length hike and a hill we had been saving for winter. The downside though-missing a couple of regulars today,Charlie(knee problems)and Ian and jake(car problems)so it would be a reduced squad of me ,Jim and Kev .Set off at about quarter past 8 up the track and spotted the big cairn at about 700 metres and headed for that ,a wee steep section followed ,on with the spikes and swiftly up to the cairn at 938m.
By the time we got this far the cloud had rolled in and the wind was biting,so we never seen much on our way to the summit cairn. A couple of cairns up here so visited both. Way to cold here to have the celebration malt so re-traced our footsteps for a kilometre or so and headed down the hillside from here. This was a good move ,harder snow here so we slid a good bit down on our arses ,also found a large shelter in a snow drift to have a wee celebration tipple(glenfiddich 18 year old no less) and some superb tattie and leek soup ,thanks to mrs kev again . All that was left was the hike back to the cars, the sun came out for most of the way and the wind down here had died down making it a pleasant walk.Another great day and cheers to jim and kev, pity ian and charlie were missing though but it meant more soup for us .Bring on the next 183 .
