Great report Polly!

I did the same thing on Ben Lui, couldn't see a thing, was taking a break at the cairn hoping for some photos when suddenly the cloud lifted and the true summit and cairn were revealed close by. You do feel a bit daft but all part of the fun

Grest report Polly and some great pictures too. I had a similar cairn 'moment' when I was on Derry Cairngorm last weekend. Very smug at my time to reach the top, only for the clag to lift long enough to unveil the final push to the actual summit  I was all on my own so could hide my blushes

I still have Beinn Dearg to do, and was planning on tacking on the Corbett too when I do it, so might wait until spring perhaps. Always good to read reports from others on the hills to see what I might be up against. This one looks like a good walk, rather than a technical challenge. It's always good to have a few of those types of hills up your sleeve I find :D

Great stuff Polly, when I read the title I thought 'I'm sure I've commented on this, why isn't there a star on it'? Anyway a fine entertaining report, you were saved a little embarrassment by that walking, cycling dude  beautiful photo's throughout too :D

Thanks Dave,

I laugh at myself constantly on the hills ( and to be honest at most of the absurd thoughts I have every day!)

When I was coming off the summit of a very murky misty Ben Challum, I met these two really old guys and was talking to them for ages. Anyway they were halfway through a story about something or other and I said 'Wow look at that fantastic ridge over there! Where is that?' and both of them looked at me as if I was loopy and said 'that's the ridge you've just walked over!!!' Eejit!

Thanks Derek.

Loving the new camera now that I've had a good wee play about with it. Tried to set it up for a cheesy summit shot on Tulaichean and instead of setting the timer I managed to put it in 'sleep mode'. Thought I had broken it!!! It sprung back into life about 4pm the next day :? :?
