Saturday 25th April 2010, another trip to the hills on my lonesome. This time the targets were two of the Crianlarich Hills - An Caisteal (3264 feet) followed by Beinn A Chroin (3100 feet).
A long walk in from the A82 and very boggy after the landrover path finishes, I cut diagonally up the Twistin Hill and it was not long before I was on the ridge that leads up past the castle as its called. This is a large rocky top that looks somewhat like a castle. Shortyly afterwards, the summit. Then drop down to 2400 feet for the Col between the two munros. A rather exposed but easy enough scramble and you are at one of the 4 (and the hightest) tops of Beinn A Chroin. Decsend into the valley and follow the boggy path back to the landrover track. Fight through the coo field and back to the car. 7.5 hours.
