This walk is split in two Chwarel y Fan and then Twmpa. What can i say about Twmpa, other than its a short easy walk up a clear path to the summit. The weather was kind to us today with views over to Pen y Fan all be it a bit hazy, and a clear view to Chwarel y fan and across to Hay bluff. Start point Gospel pass grid refs SO236350

Start point Capel y ffin grid ref SO255314
The path up Chwarel y fan was a bit of a mixed bag. At the start you have some steps then up some rough ground it then opens up to a grassy path that rises steeply. Once again the path changes again to loose stones underfoot that continues to rise steeply, On reaching the top of the ridge path opens up again with a clear path to the summit. On reaching the summit its just a case of retracing your steps back down. You have to watch your footing on the way back down the ridge. That said we enjoyed this walk as the sun was shining with the odd shower of hail stones.
