That turned into a bit of an epic, glad you are OK . As folk have said that would have been a whole lot more serious if you were on your own but at least you have a good tale to tell down the local .
:D
I was thinking of doing these this weekend , not so sure now! :?

Glad it worked out ok in the end - one to tell the grandkids...

Cheers. I always explain to my wife that solo walking is different & that i pick easier hills & short walks. That said she was more bothered with the level of mess i brought to the house on my return

Well done, it does look like an overly tiring day :(
Look on the bright side, these kind of days make grand tales to tell to bothy audiences..
And it wouldn't be fun if they were all easy...

Thanks basscadet. A normal day for these would be 4k less & about 8/9 hours. A tale to tell indeed

Johnny Corbett wrote:When i saw 11.5hrs my first thought was too much loafing about on the hillside having teabreaks  but then i read on and see the real reason. The main thing is you got out and back safely. I had the good fortune of doing these two in clear weather, mainly bacause i was saving them for a good day as i didn't fancy navigating round them in bad weather :? Good read and well done on such a bad day :D

Cheers Johnny. Sunbathing on the hill side for a few hours would have been good

mrssanta wrote:That was rather an epic adventure!! I was thinking some time ago to take daughter up here as it's a nice high start, but each TR I read from these hills is worse than the one before! perhaps we'll wait a bit longer.

That might be wise mrssanta. Or keep it for a 100% clear day 8)

So glad you are still here to write this report mate, like I said,it was funny for all off 5min,then it got serious.

Great team effort from Andy & Paul to pull you out,so a big thanks to both.  .

Sorry I was of no help.but there is know way I could ever got back over that bog as it took all the effort just to get over in the first place mate.

PS............just a wee thing.........some people pay a fortune for a full body mud bath & colonic irrigation....................but not you..................so well done for a cracking freebie.

Notes taken... I won't be tackling this one until i've completely lost the plot  . That would have been some story should the MR had to rescue you from a bog. Scary stuff but glad there was a positive outcome.

Also had bad weather for these two as well - but was lucky in that the snow covered most of the bog  Looks like GLW's weather voodoo has returned   Glad you all got back safely - it's all part of the fun I guess - cheers :D
