Gooey, Lui and the Views

Set of at 7.30 from Larbert with my mate Drew, for what promised to be a fine initiation into the hillwalking for him. A no bad drive up had us parked for 9 and ready to go. First the much maligned river crossing, smart move by the others we met at the carpark, they had wellies for the job, however a barefoot crossing for Drew and a wee drop icy water into ma boots was not how I'd planned it, but hey-ho.
Next the trudge up through the sludge, past the bridge and waterfall...
and once clear of the forest, the views certainly made it worthwhile...
Headed staight-ish for the bealach,
enjoying the sunshine, cursing at the rain and laughing when it quickly changed to snow as we got higher.
Once on the bealach, enjoyed the view to the south
then we decided to head for Beinn a' Chleibh, met a couple of guys on the climb up and had a bit of chat before pushing on to the summit.......hoorah at last i was standing on a cloud free munro top !!
Great views all round and the impressive Ben Lui looked equally clear of cloud
so after a few snapshots we headed back to the bealach before starting the climb up to our second summit of the day.
After enduring the snow/hail being fired at us by the wind, we again passed a few folk on the climb before stopping for a quick bite and hot choca mocca. Another 20mins of climbing got us to the summit which was now immersed in cloud, typical !! however it slowly cleared enough for a few photos
before headin back down for a slog through the bog and back to the car, this time caring not a jot about the river crossing as a change of clothes was in the car only 100m away.
All in all a fantastic day, four seasons, 2 munros and views to die for.
