The early bird catches the inversions

With a weekend off work, no oncall and looking for somewhere closeby, I decided to head to Arrochar. There was a good post on this one from Gavin99 so pretty much took into consideration his recommendations for this walk.

Parked in the small layby on the right just before the stony walled bridge (NN243060) and started the walk at 8am.

Down over the footbridge, up the well worn path, and through the broken fence onto the hillside. The cloud was low and there were no views at all of the hill in question.

A path heads off north towards Beinn Ime.

After 300m headed west and up the broad ridge, dodging quite a few rocky outcrops, towards the summit. The SMC book says a short and easy ascent 1hour 40, managed it in 1 hour and 30 minutes, but found it a long hard slog to the summit. However, once there the views were worth it!

Back down the broad ridge, picking up the path and back to the car in 2hours 30.

You took your time on this did you not? It's only a 2 hour walk and where's the photo of the bird?

Beautiful photos, certainly worth getting up for views like that.....not that I would know what morning looks like

I was on Beinn Bhuide that morning and witnessed the same inversions - great day.

well done mt, but i have to agree with jc, i done this in 3 hours but nipped up and threaded the needle of the cobbler too.

You took your time on this did you not? It's only a 2 hour walk and where's the photo of the bird?

its quite nice to actually sit and the top and admire the views and not just rush up touch the top, summit pic and run back down!! Also didnt have my usual walking boots!!!
