Having worked the weekend i was itching to get out and about, so i decided to climb the Black Mountain which i missed doing a couple of weeks age when i did Chwarel y fan. I parked my car in the pullin at Gospel pass grid ref SO236351. Its a short steep walk up and out fo the pass along Ffynnon y parc it soon levels out and you have some great views as you walk along the path to the Hay bluff trig point. the path from the trig point to the summit is about as good as it gets with parts of it slabed in the wetter areas. the summit is pretty well level so when you reach the point you dont seem to be getting any higher thats it. So i retraced my steps back to the car. On reaching the car i placed my wallet on the roof of the car while i sorted myself out and forgot about it. As i drove home i thought i would stop at the Skirrid inn for a shandy, ordered shandy went to my pocket for my wallet,no wallet ,said to the landlady going to the car to fetch my wallet at the car the penny dropped. Returned to the pub apologized to the landlady after explaining what had happened. As i continued my way home i had a call to say my wallet had been found and i am making arrangments to have it returned to me. So it`s a very big thankyou to Vic Llewellyn an honest man. :D

Now that's a day in the hills you won't be forgetting in a hurry  its always good to hear such things - reaffirms faith in human beings. Looks a really enjoyable wander, steep start but what a spectacular bluff to traverse :D
