Mid week sneaky peak club time again.

There have been a lot of reports on this hill recently. So not much to add to those.
I had a sharp deadline to be back in Glasgow to take my girls to Brownies, so picked up Alistair meet Andy in Arrochar & we were suited & booted by 07:15. Lovely cloudless morning, a little fresh but that would not last. First tip is read the notes first don’t walk up the track to the quarry & then read them. Dooh.
Once on the right track its easy going, past the bike racks we stashed trainers & extra water in the end of the old cottage. From where you look straight down the valley to Ben Lui.
Up the path towards the water fall. It is eroded in parts, but the bad step is ok. As we climbed the views opened up soon seeing Ben Lomond. Once the ground levels out’ the crags of Bhuidhe are magnificent, when you can see them fully. Had a breather before the steep pull up on to the ridge.
We could see for miles particularly in the direction of Tyndrum & Arrochar. Towards Dalmally it was pretty hazy, but still stunning. The walk along the ridge to the summit is lovely. We spent a good 40 mins soaking up the rays & views.
Quickly back along the ridge & down to the level boggy ground. At one particular boggy bit I elected to walk around rather than jump. Can’t think why? Whilst I was walking around Alistair managed to pull his calf muscle. Ouch. The rest of the way down was very slow &, for Alistair, painful.
Andy went on ahead & once down to the old cottage ran the 7K & drove up the road/track to pick us up by the bike rack. He had spoken to a lady at one of the houses to explain first rather than just horsing up their private road.
Really great to walk & see more than the butt & rucksack of the person in front of you.

Nice one Jonny, gutted I missed out on this one now, looks like a cracking day. Love the pic of you at that bog  Hoping to get out tomorrow (seeing as all you lucky buggers are off to Kintail and I'm not :( ) so might have a crack at this one. Was going to be Meall Glas and Sgiath Chuil, but in two minds now :? Though I think I'd bike it in and out, save me that 7K jog  Enjoy Kinail :D

I'll be passing the bus stop at 06:30 you could come with us for the day & get the train home from Kyle of whatever it's called

Bike a good move unless you have a dodgy ankle & an Andy

I've done the two lochy ones separate, but easy enough to combine still probably a harder walk than Bhuidhe

Enjoy whatever you do.

I hope you got back in time as you have to get your priorities right :D Our two girls went to Brownies and now, the younger has just produced our first grandchild, Emily, so she'll no doubt be off to Brownies in a few years
