Climbed with my dad (his first munro in over 30 years), we set off at 10.45 from the Braes of Foss car park and climbed steadily with just our t-shirts on, until we reached the beginning of the rocky ground. We had by this point caught and overtaken many other folk out on the mountain, clearly a very popular route! We donned our jackets and gloves as the snow began to fall, and tediously picked our way through the boulders and rocks. We quickly reached the summit, a fairly unimpressive one at that, with naught but a very small cairn to actually indicate that it is the summit, and then quickly turned around and headed back down as it was mighty cold at the top and cloud cover made visibility poor. We stopped for lunch once out of the wind and snow, and then descended, making it back to the car just 3.5 hours after leaving.
