It has been over two months since our last walk but thankfully MD and I were both free on Sunday.

With ongoing road works down the A82 and the extra holiday traffic we did not want to go near Loch Lomond so the obvious choice for us was Ben Chonzie.

We had a late start, stopped in Comrie for a sit in Breakfast and last use of facilities set off from the parking area around 10:45.

The ascent was pretty straight forward, follow the path until you get to a little cairn then turn left and head accross the heather, the path is there but a tad boggy. Eventually we got to the old metal fence, from there it is a case of following it to the summit.

We had to put on our waterproofs at the little cairn and the rain kept up all the way to the top and most of the way back until we dropped below it. There was not much to be seen but for about 2 minutes the sky cleared enough for us to see the Lochs and hill so that was a nice treat.

Not the most exciting Munro but a nice easy one, a first for us was not being overtaken by other walkers infact we passed a group of 5 guys and we were home in time for dinner. :D
