I had another free midweek day and the chance to go with a friend somewhere 'up the A9', on the condition that I made my way home by public transport. The selected hill was Ben Vuirich and proved a good choice on the day. Weather was reasonable with a minimum of hail showers ... cool wind and warm sun and not too wet underfoot. Great views and mainly good visibility.
Warning
Please note that hillwalking when there is snow lying requires an ice-axe, crampons and the knowledge, experience and skill to use them correctly. Summer routes may not be viable or appropriate in winter. See winter information on our skills and safety pages for more information.
