Cairngorm visit via the quiet sector.

We thought that we could be breaking trail today on the North ridge of Cairngorm Beginning from the Ciste car park there is a path out to the col above the wee plantation to reach the ridge...... not marked on the Harvey map.

Only the Scots Pines remain after the imports were snipped.....Lochan na Beinne below.

The local inhabitants were ahead of us this morning.

From the wee wide col below the flat topped small tor 1028, el alamein shelter lies below.....a bit of beinn mheadhoin, a bit of the saddle and a chunk of cnap coire na spreidhe are showing.

A rimed up preacher is speaking to a uninterested audience.

The skiers and boarders seemed to be happier above the mechanised area where the snow was much finer.

Down the ridge from 1141 to reach the ski area and a jog down the road to regain the motor.

Nice one. Amazing amount of snow considering it had all gone in March. Was up over the Fungle Road yesterday and the 'gorms & Lochnagar looked totally white.
