Loved reading your report! Fab photos! 17kg backpack.... Clearly I'm gonna have to seriously downsize what I pack (leave lipstick & mascara at home? ) mine was 12kg plus panniers stuffed to the gunnels!

.... And no tent!

Fantastic report Paul! :D

Heading up to attempt this round very early Sunday, no work til Tuesday night so hopefully will manage to get them done.

Just hope that we get clear conditions too, your photo's are amazing and there's nothing better than good pics to remind you years on of these special places in Scotland.

Do you think that most of your route would be suitable for a couple of fit springer spaniels? They are fine with ridges and heights, boulder fields etc. but would be good to have a heads up on any areas where the scrambling becomes technical and we have to hoist them up sections.

Cheers, EF :)

Great report and nice pix. Makes such a difference to have good weather.

Re the debate whether to wild camp, bothy or do a day trip, we biked the gear in to set up a wild camp by an alder grove in Strath na Sealga, from which we made two day trips to bag the 6 (plus I bagged the Corbett above the camp). We had to push the bikes a bit, as I recall, but better than carrying heavy packs for a multi-day camp (my gear wasn't so lightweight then and I took a 2 man tent for maximum comfort).

Doogz - if solo i would defo go lite and do bothy to bothy, or walk out after the 6.

Mountainstar - think ill need advice from the old yin, aye you!!

Blackpanther - Kintail is full of moontin porn

Malky c - realized when at lochan fada that you had recently posted a TR of the hills on the other side, was thinking how cool to walk them...that was before i realized!

Soulminer - city boy desperate to leave big bad city :D

Pigeon - you'll still have to lug your carry out to bothy

MT - 5 mins to pitch the tent, and i was first ready in the morn...so there!!

GLW - prob best wat to tackle these.

Electricfly - if snow gone its no problem as no technical stuff. We actually seen paw prints as doing the ridge.

Well done dooter impressive trip. Hope you got the wild camping bug now, but be warned there is plenty of serious gear envy to be had for all the lightweight stuff you can get.

Excellent timing, Dooterbang, making the most remote Munro your 200th. Congratulations on the double century!

I'd heard the views from the Fisherfields were amazing, but I wondered if that was a bit romanticised due to them being so hard earned. But from your photos, the views seem as superb as people say they are.

Definitely a round to look forward to for those of us who haven't done it yet!

Congrats on the 200 :D

Great round of hills to hit that landmark. Looking at these from An Teallach recently certainly whetted my appetite :D I'll definitely be returning to your report when the time eventually comes for me to venture into this wilderness :D
