An evening walk last wednesday after work. Jim and I were joined by his daughter Louise, for her second corbett.
We parked on the small car park just before the landslide traffic lights heading up the rest and be thankful. It was still hot, the sky was clear and we were in for a treat of a night.

We crossed the bridge and onto the path which we had to come off after a short while and headed directly up the hill. It`s pathless and grassy and thankfully it had been warm and dry all week. It was steep and we zig zagged our way up, picking out features to follow.

We got up to the rocky section with the cave just before the 800m mark and had a poke about, the cave looked like it was used as a sheep toilet.

We climbed up on top of the cave to see the summit not far off ahead of us and enjoyed a more relaxed, much less steep walk for the rest of the way. And from here we had great clear views all around arrochar. As we walked along we could see that one of the easter island heads had taken a holiday up the alps.

We reached the top and spent a while looking around, pointing out all the hills we could see and it was pleasing to say that we had been on top of most of the summits without a cloud in the sky, but the sun was beginning to go down. We messed around with daft poses and caught the sun in various degrees of setting before heading down.

we got down the car , still enough light for the midges to see us and have their first bite of me this year, hopefully there will be plenty more opportunites for them to tsate my hot sweaty blood

cheers Johnny, Arrochar or Luss even are ideal for nights like these. My mates went up Beinn an Lochain as well on friday night. The hills are so close to the road and only an hours drive away so easy to get up and down before dark.

Really lovely sunset photies there  - you obviously got a great evening for it weather-wise.
I just did this one after work - I'd say Luibhean is a seriously under-rated wee hill; it has great views and is ideal for an evening walk in the summer.
