I've been eyeing up this round for a few years now, but keep making excuses not to do it. Maybe next year!

Unlucky Monty and Scraggles, but a sensible decision of course (although walking out from that point isn't exactly a breeze). I have a horrible feeling that I might have put the idea for this into Monty's head last summer.

Les conquerants de l'inutile ......the 'c' word when applied to mountains/hills has always been an uneasy one for me and perhaps many others? Certainly Lional Terray, in the 50's/60's, posed this question when on the very high tops where the outcomes for many of his contemporaries were life changing and devastating. It is one of these words used in many contexts that always leaves an uneasy feeling.......jack-booted armies throughout history marching over whole populations etc.

The ability to keep up a pace of three kls. per hour and 300 mtrs. of ascent is a very fine level of fitness. With this level of fitness you could combine the main Skye Ridge with the traverse of all the Bhabheinn lot as well?
Seemingly without much difficulty.

I've just logged back into WH for the first time in a while after the chaos of moving house - to be greeted by this epic.

Congratulations to all involved - to say it is "inspirational" is an understatement.

With momentum like this you must be planning on finishing at the meet in August!

Fantastic report and pix.

It's brilliant when folk take the time to record something like this in pix and words to inspire others.

I came upon this route completely by chance when I noticed a huge empty part of Scotland and looked a bit more closely on the map. Ended up with Mullardoch, and then looked for "Mullardoch in a day", cos it looked a tremendous challenge, but just about doable.

Now I have the answer. Hope to give it a go this year, but with slightly cooler weather. I was doing the Cuillin Ridge just after you did this, and it was nearly impossible to stay hydrated. so I can imagine how it was for you guys.

But at least you will have missed the midges!!

Did it last Saturday 8th June, in something like your time. Start 02.35, back 20.50.

The weather was unbelievable. You could see the Cuillins from 03.30 onwards, Liathach, etc, etc.

Simple indescribable. Amazingly few people, given the perfect conditions.

Midges had just started, but in small enough numbers to squash (with pleasure) against the mossy net in the tent.

Definitely the hardest session I've ever done, even more so than Cuillins ridge (did that a couple of times last year in similar wonderful weather).

We are the lucky ones.
