gates open at 9am we were told that they were closed at 7pm((dad said to the gatekeeper "we will be back long before that") famous last words) :(
parked at the large grassy area and headed off
a great walk beautiful views but in hindsight was just to hot (we were well prepared with fluids/suntan cream etc & plenty of lovely cold burns topup the water bottles in :D )
strangest sight(sorry no pics) groups of 15/20 deer up on other hills all just lying on snow patches to cool down(this really should have told us humans that it was going to be hot  )
i would really recommend the you either drop off a bike where you come to estate road as you come down or if you are lucky enough have a vehicle at each end (we were so happy when a very kind man gave us a lift the final 3-4k back to our car otherwise i think we may have been lock in the estate for the night)
even if you are not a walker i would recommend a vist to glen strathfarrar it is one of the most beautiful well maintained areas i have been to
