- Take the faint path to the right off the top heading in the direction of Birkenshaw Reservoir. DO NOT GO DOWN THE PATH INFRONT OF THE TRIG POINT THIS IS THE WRONG WAY.
- The path becomes clearer as you head down.
- The Birkenshaw Reservoir should be in front of you as you descend.
- The path leads you to this break in the trees to enter the forest tp continue the descent. It gets incredibly boggy in here.
- As you descend in the forest you'll soon come across the first of two ditches which need to be crossed. This is the first, the second can be seen just behind it with the sleeper going over it.
- Once you've crossed the 2nd ditch turn immediately left into a fire break
- The fire break is about 300 meters long narrowing as you descend
- About two thirds of the way down the fire break, you'll come across felled trees. Unfortunately this has got worse recently and is like this for the remaindeer of the fire break. Just try and pick a way through on switching between both sides of the fire break to get down but keep the fire break in view as it takes you to the point which meets the forrestry path again.
- When you finally get past all the felled trees in the firebreak, you'll come out here. Cross over the stream and re-join the forestry path.
- Exiting the firebreak.
- Continue to descend on the more well defined forestrly path
- As you descend keep left when you see this junction
- At the next junction turn right
- Continue down and before long a path appears on the left hand side (This is the path mentioned in first report and takes you along the front of the Little Bin and will eventually take you back to about halfway up the ascent route) so just ignore it and keep heading down
- Before long you'll arrive at this fork in the road. Take the left hand path and head over the bridge.
- Walk over the bridge and follow the path down as it meanders, initially through the forest and eventually along the side of the reservoir
- Follow the path along the side of the reservoir
- It's very picturesque, with some great views over to the Fintry Hills
- You get some nice views of Dungoil as you walk
- You'll eventually come to another junction, go right at this point and rejoin the ascent path.
- Now you're back on the ascent path, cross the bridge and retrace your steps back to Todholes carpark.
- The view back to the Meikle Bin from the forestry path.
