Not punishment pigeon, I love these types of walks They can make the drive home afterwards alittle "interesting" though Got a good view of the Culra bothy when I did these and it looks like a stunning situation. It'll be camping in that area for me when I get round to Alder and pal sometime in the future. I think I need a little more "civilized" camping practice first The amount of stuff I had in my car boot for my recent Ullapool trip suggests I still have a lot to learn on the campling front

We're a brotherhood, or we should be This was the same day as your "Ice cold...." trip, but I seemed to have managed to be out of the breeze for the hottest part of the day You clearly had your route and timings planned far better than me

Certainly a long walk in that heat but a great end result - well done It's an interesting and different way to approach these hills - on my to do list and I've been looking at how best to approach these hills and Ben Alder & co but I hadn't thought about going from the west. Guess I'll probably take the lazy way out and cycle in but you've got me thinking - cheers
