Walkhighlands

Started the walk from Inverlochlarig where i met a couple of guys at the car park that were doing the same walk. Both keen hillwalkers, not just climbing the Corbett, but also the top Meall Reamhar. We decided to walk together exchanging hillwalking stories as we went. We walked along the track before crossing the bridge and then decided what route to take up as we had 3 or 4 options. We decided to make our way across where we would gain it's north ridge about three quaters of the way up, from here a short pull and we were on the summit. There are two cairns with the south one being the summit we think. The views are tremendous and although a steep climb it's a short day out. Once on the summit we had a bite to eat before Jim & Doug headed for their top. I descended a slightly differant route, heading east initially then north towards the bridge and track back to the start.

Interesting. Did this from Loch Katrine in the snow recently and didn't fancy the neighbouring top in those conditions. Looks very different now and walk in/out looks worthwhile from that side.

We were across from you on An Caisteal and it's three neighbours and that looked like a pretty steep climb. You must have been fairly moving to do it in that time

Cheers i remember reading your report. The walk in and out is as level as you'll ever get.

Boot camp is what my girlfriend calls it when she walks with me though the time may have been 5-10mins more, not sure exactly what time i started. It was a busy car park when i returned and a good day for the Munros up there

Excellent pics. Must try the Trossachs.

Some spectacular scenery from up there Johnny, no wonder even the sheep like it....though you must have been going a bit.....note to self, don't join Johnny on a hike any time soon

Cheers Johnny, this is a GR8 hill with some better views seen from the other 2 tops that we visited. Jim and I managed 10 further walking days on our trip including 3 around Oban, 4 on Jura, 2 on Islay and a day on Colonsay. The Paps of Jura was very special. We bagged over 40 new Scottish hills on our 12 day trip.
