This was only our 2nd Munro since doing Ben Nevis last year and as we were on Skye for the week, this was on our list to do, having read many favourable reports and debating which to choose.
As we took the road from Broadford to Egol, our 1st sight of the challenge before us loomed large.
We parked up and headed up the well walked track passing a great waterfall on the way up.
The track is easy to follow pretty much up into the basin. As height is gained the views certainly open up
We had read alot about the route and the track disappearing in the basin, however as long as you go off to the right side and follow the track which appears and disappears in parts on the way up.
There is a bit of scrambling and easy climbing involved in the ascent, but not necessary to be a climber. This was our first experience of scrambling and it was not too bad.
The next section involved a bit of climbing but was not to bad, this was interspersed with parts of a track.
After a hard slog of about 10 minutes the top is eventually reached and we were rewarded with excellent views of most of Skye and the surrounding islands.
We enjoyed the views, ate lunch and then headed down the way we had come. A great walk and we both had alot of fun with the challenge.
