Started at Glen Canisp camp. Walk to Elphin. Collect 3-4 days of food supplies. Walk to near top of Cul Mor. Camp.
Morning was fine (note : the dates for this whole trip are approximate) ; went mizzly through the afternoon, but I wasn't noticing much, not even the exposure of the Moine Thrust Plane on the cliff opposite. I don't think that I was particularly geological at the time, but I think I was feeling unwell too. After setting up camp at around NC167116, and feeding up, the weather improved for us to do a midge-escape manouver and bag all three summits of the range. I definitely got all geological looking North towards Suilven and Canisp and Ben More Assynt, because I had my "Deep Time" moment - when the true appaling depths of geological time hits you, and leaves you a geologist ; cognate to an astronomer's "Deep Space" moment, perhaps - up there, and returned the favour years later to a friend studying geology with the OU.
