Kyle blew me away here! On the Sat we got soaked up the Creise...he insisted on camping in Glen Etive on Sat night, after we found the dug (long story). Woke up Sun, said he wanted to climb more mountains...so we did Buachaille Etive Beag. The wee guy is 6 years old and climbed 4 Munros this weekend, some boy....think we might have bred a mountain goat! Ha, ha! :D

All Packed and ready for the weekend!
Started out at the ski centre in the sunshine, t-shirts on and sweating heading up under the chair lifts. experienced one of those quality moments here, 4 walkers (apparently) where in the chair lift overhead, heading up the hill, Kyle shouts up "oi...your lazy, you should be walking" I was cringing and laughing at the same time! The weather soon turned into a downpour followed by a gail, I suggested turning back but was met by a determined "NO DAD"!
DSC01055.JPG
A quick sugar fix! YUM YUM!
We spent the next wee while in the clouds / rain talking about how he had just climbed his 5th Munro (Meall a'Bhuiridh). I was so proud, not to sure he grasp his achievement.

Kyles 5th Munro in back ground!
All of a sudden the cloud lifted, we could see all around, beautiful! Then in came the clag!
DSC01067.JPG
I reckon I see a route down dad....!
His 6th Munro (Creise) and telling me how he could see a good route down off the hill which would be quicker than our ascent! Trying not to laugh, I had a look and then said OK, you’re leading us, so we descended the scree and was soon a good 200m below the ridge and heading out! Some boy!
DSC01068.JPG
Look what I found!
I was expecting a leg / body to be found next. Ha, ha! Soon we were back at the truck and suggested we should head home because it had been a tough day and our gear was soaking, met with the firm NO, for the second time of the day we headed for Glen Etive to set up camp for the night!

On route to campsite antics!
After a night with the rain and midges in the tent I was sure we would be heading home in the morning but when we woke up the rain had stopped and the sun was out, so the climb was defo on.

Day 2, the walk in!
DSC01080.JPG
In good spirits!

Come on dad, this is my number 7, keep up!
However you can see the weather closing in on our first summit (Stob Coire Raineach (Buachaille Etive Beag) of the day, the wee guy was determined to make the summit in clear weather, from car park to summit was 1hr 36mins, impressive! :D I was fecked!!!!
DSC01093.JPG
Quick rest and feed on the summit!
We just made it and then weather caught up, full waterproofs on now. Even Marley looks a bit knackered! So we then headed for the final summit (Stob Dubh (Buachaille Etive Beag) of the trip!

Me and Ma Boy, on his 8th Munro summit!
I was a very proud dad at this point, what an epic day / weekend! Despite the mixed bag of weather. :D

On the way down!

Beutiful!
To some up, Glen Coe is a magic / magnificent place. It is made only better with the company, the weather only adds to the excitement of your adventures, I am sure both me and Kyle will climb these hills together again in fine weather! :D

Fantastic achievment again Dave, you have definitely unleashed a mountain goat monster here.....

Soon be into double figures. Love the cheeky " oi...your lazy, you should be walking " comment ...

4 munros in a weekend is good going in anyones book, we were meant to be doing the Mamores with a wild camp last weekend but decided against it, so kudos again for you guys braving the elements and the midgies.

Dare say I'll see you around on another mountain soon..........
