the curved ridge
the buachaille etive mor via the curved ridge

I started this walk with two friends that were doing a climb on the ranoch wall as I didn’t know the exact route to the start of the curved ridge. But as it turned out it is quite straight forward ,you start at altnafeadh gr 221563 from here you take the path past the wight washed cottage and follow it round to the left passing along under the mass of stob dearg( pick 1)
keeping to a well trodden path, once you pass the water slab (un mistakable)the path turns uphill and begins to zig zag up to the start of the ridge proper.(pick 2).
this is where we parted company and they traverse across to the start of there climb I continued up the curved ridge for another 30-40 ft then stopped to have a coffee to enable them to set up and start climbing the first pitch, where I was able to get sum good shots across the void (picks 3-4-5 )
of them in action.ther were plenty of other people on the ridge that day (picks 6-7 ) so after a while I moved of following sum others on up to the crowberry tower where I stopped to take in the view , (pick 8)
I would have had lunch here but I left my rucksack at the bottom of the tower so had to Waite until I reached the top for a bite.sum more picks from here looking west(9-10) then on the move towards the second munroe of the day pity someone put what seemed to be another two 3000 ft peeks in-between me and my objective, but once again there were plenty of others to show you the way and a well worn path to follow (pics11-12)
once you reach the summit of stob na broige you retrace your steps until you reach the coll between stob coire altruim and stob na doire, here you drop down into lairig gartain turning right and following the bogy path back to your start position
sorry abought the numbering of the picks but i'm not used to this site yet .

Excellent. I'm always on the lookout for climbers when I'm out and about...one day myself maybe!
Love pic no7!

That 'unmunro' (giant summit) in the middle of the walk to the second munro is somewhat unexpected, huh?

Nice pics! :)

Hi Ken. Very cool! LOVE pic no11 and no5! We've yet to do any proper climbing in Scotland (tough to get all your gear shipped from the states), but this looks like a really great one to start with...even just to do the hike and watch all the climbers. Fantastic!
