short report from our trip to outer hebrides almost 3 months ago.

we drove to dalabrog just by chance: after visiting dead quiet and deserted boisdale we decided to find those famous beaches and relax a little. unfortunately weather was disappointing :(
anyway, we didnt know any recommended places on sth uist therefore we just turned from the main road and drove west -towards the sea. thats how we ended up in dalabrog. drove as far as a cemetery, left the car there (amongst a herd of cows) passed the little signpost 'beware of the bull'... and walked along one of many paths leading towards the shore and the beach.

that's how you dress up to enjoy hebridean beaches in late april

after 5 mins of sitting still on the lovely white sand, i started being concerned -looked like the beach wanted to swallow us alive (just little bit frozen)

wee wander along the beach - loads of stinky seaweed, very very stinky actually. we cut the walk short, didnt enjoy it much. to be honest i noticed that beaches facing west were much worse (dirtier, more seaweed, stinky) that the ones facing east.

by the way - the round houses - if you expect to actually see something you will be disappointed. the roundhouse is just a round flat place at the foot of a dune. if it wasnt for a signpost it would be easily thought to be a flat, grassy picnic area or potential tent pitch
